If you can watch the last 35 minutes in this race you need to.Billy Johnson pounded his way up to 3rd before running out of car.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see a TCR car win the overall here.
At the Labor Day vintage races, they sometimes run the under-2.5L Trans Am class cars (Minis, Alfas, BMWs) with the big-cube cars (Mustangs, Camaros, Javelins). There are a couple Minis that can keep up with the Shelby GT350s and fight for the overall win.

Way back in the day (talking mid 60s here) there were legendary battles between Chuck Rathgeb's Comstock Mustangs and Bill Brack's Mini at Mosport and a couple of old WWII airport circuits, Green Acres and Harewood Acres. It was never a done deal who was going to win. Brack eventually made his way to F1. Craig Fisher was one of the Mustang drivers, he eventually raced TransAm for Penske along with Mark Donohue.
Those were the days, I was around 13 years old and would do anything to get to the races.....

the live feed apparently had some cool stuff in it, like when we barely beat the pace car out on track to get our lap back in the 59 car, and they had BJ driving the car sideways (remember he had about a 1/2 inch of toe out in the left rear) to get all the way back to 3rd before the car started giving up, some of that was on the TV... really great stuff if you want to see a Gt4 mustang driven like Parnelli Jones in a 69 Boss 302 with bias ply tires, Definitely worth the price of admission. I think GS was actually the best race of the weekend.
