Maybe a silly tire question

The stock tire sizes are 255/285.

If I keep the same 30mm stagger but up the tire size to a 275/305 what will this do for handling ?? Let's just say I am using the same tire brand and model.

The more rubber under our heavy cars the better. I run Nitto NT01's in 275/305 and they are a HUGE improvement over the stock rubber. They are R comp tires though. You can go 20mm stagger on stock suspension and be fine. Say Hankook RS3's in 265/285 or Rival's in 275/295.
