They're all trying to push their streaming services, and auto racing (sports car racing in particular), even as much as we crave it, is really the perfect product to push over to streaming. Sports is the only type of reality show I'll ever watch. As the Rolex 24 gets more popular, NBC is showing fewer hours of it. This year is just ridiculous with the number of hours they've shifted to Peacock-only.
I've actually been pretty impressed with the racing shown on some channels lately - lots of GT and sports car racing coverage. We've come a long way from the old Speedvision days, though I do miss some of the lawn mower races they used to air. We might be a little spoiled now when looking back to the early 2k's and before. The positives are that many of the races we all want to see we can now see live instead of waiting 2 weeks to watch many of the stronger support races like the Michelin Challenge. Plus it has enabled us to watch many race Series that often in years past were only available many months after they were run, so for racing fans it is hard to complain. Those of us who used to wait around for the " Wide World of Sports " to show a brief highlight show of a race that might have been run a month before are actually fairly pleased we have some resources now to see aa myriad of races. I liked having racing available on the conventional Stations, but when Peacock starting picking up the smaller support races like the Mustang Challenge Series , it made it valuable to me and for the first time that I can remember I have enough racing on the tube to keep me satisfied almost year round!

True, but the rest of the race time is mostly 9-1-1 and Law & Order reruns on USA, and over on CNBC it's American Greed reruns and infomercials. A few years ago, NBC channels had something like 20 of the 24 hours live. Then NBCSN went dark and a lot of the endurance race hours got pushed to Peacock. They have the ablility to air the entire 24 hours of the Rolex between NBC, USA, and CNBC, they just don't want to. They want to force fans to subscribe to Peacock.USA Network has 4 hrs Sat afternoon
That's strange - I went to IMSA TV just now (2:30PST Saturday Jan 25 2025) and it worked fine for me.They used to stream the entire 24 hours on IMSA TV, but as I type these words IMSA TV is dark with just these words showing:Only Available To Stream In The United States On Peacock Premium
That's pretty stupid thinking, there's an entire world out there and apparently they figure it's not important. Which is one reason why IMSA will always be the poor 2nd cousin to WEC.
Whatever.
If they don't want people outside the US watching that's fine, I'll remember that when IMSA brings their half of a show to Mosport this summer. They want a hundred bucks a head to watch a race with no GTP class cars? I think I'll probably have to cut my lawn that day.
Gettin' pretty tired of IMSAs foolish games.
