.....so nice those funny yellow cars that are shaped like a wedge of cheese did not take the Win in GTD Pro!! Personally I was glad to see Porsche beat Acura for the Overall Win!
IMHO I think the Brats and Cheese cars lost their chance to win because of their personal beef throughout the race. Overall great race and good to see the Mustang on top.

I resubscribed at Peacock since there is alot of good racing on there, including watching our buddy " Quick Nick " ( Black Boss ) running in the Mustang Challenge Series. Good race so far with the Blue Ovals staying in the top 5 most of the time , with stints at Numero Uno!
I subscribed yesterday too. I’m thinking I should have gotten the no commercials subscription lol

Yeah, I caught some highlights of the shennanigans between the GTD Pro BMWs and Corvettes. Cars from both teams got penalties, rightfully so.

Read the fine print - I think there were some cases where they could still have commercials in the "commercial-free" subscription; I think "live sporting events" was one.

Something happened to the lead 2 LMP2 cars in the last half hour or so, one of which was Ben Keating's ride, though another driver was in it at the time. They may have gotten into each other because the lead changed, and right after that they both were in the pits when they should have had enough fuel to run to the checkers. Never saw anything in replays.

I was watching the Mustang onboard camera during some of the Peacock-only hours, and you could really tell they had a top-speed advantage. They might lose some distance in the infield, but on the back straight they could reel a car back in, not lose much in the bus stop, then had a decent chance to drive by them in the tri-oval. That said, they certainly weren't overdogs, and IMSA seems to have done a pretty good job of balancing performance in all the categories.

They used to stream the entire 24 hours on IMSA TV, but as I type these words IMSA TV is dark with just these words showing:

Only Available To Stream In The United States On Peacock Premium

If you're watching it via wifi, setting your VPN to go through a foreign country will let you view it.

At one point one of those funny yellow cars tried to do the NASCAR "rubbing is Racing" tactic. Not the best play when your car is made of Fiberglass.

Could somebody explain to me why The Mustang wasn't Ford's entry for NASCAR before it FINALLY got there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!There was the Thunderbird. Fusion???????????? and Taurus?????????...........Gimmie a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The Mustang should have been there LONG before it got there...................fusion. taurus.........you got to be kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!....Hon gave me my pill..............I'll calm down now....................

Bob, calm down! You're gonna have the big one!
Going back to Nascar's roots in the 50s and 60s they raced big sedans. You know, the Chev Impala, Ford Galaxie, Chrysler 300 and so on. It only changed to pony cars in the last decade or two. Part of the problem is when they went to pony cars, Chevy would randomly kill off the Camaro, then change their mind and bring it back. Nascar seems pretty stable now with the common body, the only thing different are the end caps. Hopefully they stick with this. It'd be nice to see Stellantis jump back in with the Dodge nameplate, 4 manufacturers would be good. But I think that's a pipe dream, Chrysler, er Stellantis or whatever they call it now is kinda shaky and they don't make the Challenger anymore, do they? It'd be nice to see Honda or Nissan jump in, but they don't seem interested.
At any rate, the common body has helped improved racing, and that's good.

Good comments JDee, change is the one items many folks resist ( even hate ) the most, and yet those that look at life in a pragmatic way realize it is the single most common occurrence throughout our lives ---- and often often the most beneficial.

Thank change for those 400 - 800 ( rounded out ) horsepower Mustangs we have all gotten to drive, ha!

The genii who lead the networks are under a lot of pressure to provide only approved viewing material. The concepts of competition and perseverance do not really fit the narrative that they wish to prescribe.

However, there are a growing number that are learning to appreciate the value of such ideals. And they will follow racing wherever it is broadcast and learn to leave the old networks to crumble, decay, and one day become mere mentions in history.

Congrats to these teams and Ford. Looking forward to this years race season and the excitement that it will bring.
The most ' merica thing that happened at this year's Rolex.

Yes, the original NASCAR was for large sedans ( which actually started the muscle car craze) they were known as Grand National stock cars. When Mustangs,Camaros and Cudas came along, they were midsized cars and were in another class, known as the baby grands, it later morphed into the Busch series in the late 70s, early 80s. Then as NASCAR "stock cars" evolved into having nothing stock, with cookie cutter chassis, engines and transmissions they turned into what they have now.
Since there are no US built cars anymore, they are stuck with what they have unless they race SUVs.

You know, I'm kinda surprised that such a thing doesn't exist already. It would be entertaining for those who think racing is all about the crashes, 'cause those turds would be on their roofs regularly!

Sadly, back in the Grand Am days a group of Chrysler engineers built a legal road race Challenger and brought it to Daytona. It was way too heavy and they lobbied GA to allow them to run an aftermarket aluminum block. The organizers decided against it so they ended running a race or 2 and it never came back. How cool would it have been to see Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers going at it again!

My first time at the race, and what a time! Seeing our GT3 win the GTD Pro class was awesome. My wife and I were able to attend and spend time inside the team, and doing this for the first Mustang win is just amazing!

Somehow, Kevin, the motorsports manager, even let the french guy hold the trophy ahahah.
