My brake caliper died?!!

They saw the bolt and called it quit.
However, the tech said that the bleeder screw seat at the caliper side seems to be eroded!
 
If you can, ask for your old caliper back, unless there's a core charge.
There are bleeder screw repair kits out there, which you can drill/tap a new hole and use a smaller bleeder screw. You'll have yourself a spare caliper!

Thanks for this suggestion, but there is $50 core charge so I decided to give them the old caliper back.
Do not open an unhealed wound, I still feel bad about losing my STI... That thing was a very capable all year around anywhere anytime performance car!
