I have no audio on my work computer.
Why does it look like a cheesy mustang shell on a miata? Is it a Miata?
It looks like that is the new Aussie Supercars 'stang. Not a very good rendition of a Mustang though, proportions are wrong all over the place.
lol. Audio is the main part of that video!
Looks a bit goofy to me. I'd still like one when I grow up.
Sounds like an Ecoboost with DCT.
I am a true believer in form follows function but holy Christmas this is awful looking. I do like the camber and the sweet pin drive wheels though.
5.2 CPC I believe
This is about all I can find on the specs. It's a supercharged 5.0.
“The Falcon FG-X’s heart, however, is a 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine that pumps out 449 bhp.”
I hope the torque and powerband are really impressive. The original Roadrunner making 444 bhp naturally makes these claimed SC numbers confusing.
Does homologation limit to <450 bhp?
Granted it only has some semblance to the Mustang, but I applaud Ford for using the Stang theme ,since the Falcon is no longer made Down Under - nor is the Holden by GM. Like Nascar , the body rules dictate the shape and construction of the beast , and going with the Mustang look instead of a more plebeian appearance of GM's Holden ( essentially a Chinese Buick ) is a plus for the Blue Oval fans down under. Love the racing with the Supercars and rank it up there with the very best racing excitement of any Series - just my personal opinion. Rocking the Mustang ,which is dominating sports car sales Worldwide, makes business and racing sense, and though I agree it is a bit ungainly, not much different than Nascar here in the US of A.
Just watched the Supercars Race at Peter Island on CBS Sportsnetwork, and I really need to applaud the Ford Racing Management Team from Down Under. Sure the Mustang Supercar has some Series Mandatory Changes, but after watching all those Holden Chinesedores , er Beijing Buicks, er Commondores ( dang I just can't get it right), I say the Mustang is " Ripper!"
Big fan of Fabian Coulthard and fantastic to see his win at Peter Island!!!
There's been lots of crying from the GM camp about the ass whoopin' they've been getting down under. Oh well......
I love this series, some of the best racing going right now, I will say that it is the ugliest iteration of a Mustang so far, actually makes the NASCAR mustangs look good.
Now cmon BS1, you can't like the Beijing Buick over the Austang?????
oh no, not at all, it's just the ugliest mustang I've ever seen
Hmmm......Blacksheep I don't think you are nearly as old as I , but you must have bumped your head while working under your last race car , as you completely forgot about the Mustang II, ha,ha!? Now that is the epitome of fugly Stang!
Changes have been made:
Also according to autosport Ford and GM are 5 liter pushrod engines, and
"Horsepower is currently measured at between 620-635bhp as the parity within Supercars is measured by incremental rpm brackets rather than pure power output."
Yeah..you may have a point, the "pinto" mustangs were bad years, even the good looking ones looked bad
BS1 --- dang that is one incredibly ugly Stand and I rest my case, ha!
