Is it into the oil galley, water galley area yet?. It would appear so, but there are a lot of blocks like this out there.
I doubt it cracked at one event, these things are sort of incremental.
If you're looking for just the block, it's part #FR3Z-6010. Most dealers will show it around 825 + shipping/tax. You'll need to order the 2 dowel pins for the timing guides and two oil galley plugs, one front one rear.
Edit: actually South Florida Ford Parts (TMO vendor) has it for 781.
Agreed! I’m very thankful. Now that the motor is replaced what is the recommended break in period?
Current plan is to stay under 4000rpm for 1000 mi then change the oil and send it.
Thoughts?
Some good break-in procedure info from Mahle. Note specifics on throttle application & rpm ranges to use cylinder pressure & vacuum to help seat the rings.
Great news and I had wondered if you had chatted with the Dealer. I know some of the Engineers at Ford , as well as old friends who were with SRT/Viper suggested a moderate break in with an oil change around 500 -750 miles. In other words no full throttle, reasonable revs are okay and you do not have to baby the motor. You will note that many new high performance vehicles actually suggest 1000-1500 miles before full throttle and an oil change at least by then. Good luck and great news and your thoughts on break in are spot on in my estimation.
