May I jump in on this? For the cost, wouldn't it make sense to buy 2-3 various thickness shims? As the pad gets thinner there's less material to suck up the heat and therefore a thicker shim might prove more beneficial.

Just a thought, especially given the price.


That reminds me, I need to rebuild my calipers, since I burned off most of the piston boots up front. Ooops?

I didn't bother with more shims than the 0.5mm, but if I did, I would get a set of those and a vented set. I would use the solid one on the pad side and the vented pair on the caliper side. I don't see the value in adding more of the thicker ones. And I actually would *not* recommend the vented ones alone without a solid one on the pad side.
