NEWB looking for 2012-2013 stock dragtimes...

What can a Boss do in the 1/4 mile? I work as a tech at a Dodge dealership and I keep hearing how great the Challenger SRT8's are for drag racing in stock form. I believe it. I've looked around on the net and youtube and have seen Boss 302's go 12.3's if my memory serves me correct. This was 100% stock. So, looking at the costs of a SRT8 vs. a Boss they are comparable. I like the styling of the Boss better and the interiors are sharp, especially with the Recaro option. I've talked to a few dealerships about pricing and they seem like they want sticker price. Not sure if I'll end up with one at this point but curious about what 444 hp can do in about a 3,600 lb. platform. Thank you in advance for any replies.

Probably more difficult to get moving than most think. I'd be happy with that!

Several videos on YouTube with stock bosses running 11.70s/11.80s all stock with drag radials. I'll be going to the track soon. Hoping for 12.30s on the stock tires and then I'll give the M/T drag radials a try.

I ran a 12.20 with only a pair of 17" ET Streets bolted up. I have seen lower times with sticky tires. Never an 11 on stock tires that would be a feat.

my best on my all stock except mgw shifter was 12.66 with a 2.04 60ft mph was 114.42 but best mph that day was 116.49

i think better times if the driver mod weighed less, im @ 270-280 pounds.

From what I have been reading it looks like these cars make peak power right up to the factory rev limiter. Are most of you shifting these things as close to the limiter when you run all out? By the way, what is the limiter set at from the factory?

I think it is 7500. My first day of drag racing ever, i got a 12.84 @ 112.8. All stock but for some axlebacks and trackey. There was a 392 Chally there that just had me by a tenth or so, but more experience.

Coming from a charger with a 392 stroker motor, dont buy a new 392. Price is insane, no forged motor, its a cow, and breaking 11.50's is goin to cost you $10,000.

With MT drag radials my 2011 5.0 picked up a half second so figure I'm 11.90's.

Big time bested by old Qtr mile time today at Dallas Raceway. My car is bone stock paper filter and all. I was running street radials. MT Street Comp 2 at 20 psi.

Gremlin Steve add me to the 12 sec club! I'm a Barton bracket and shifter away from 11's on radials.

Track was great and it was 60 degrees on my best time. 12.172 @ 111.75 1.834 60ft. Eight: 7.890 @ 91.40. I found my et was better if I didn't shift to 5th and instead hit the rev limiter a sec. I did put down better mph today @ 115 so all in all super happy.
