Guys-

Let's post up the part numbers for the upgrades we do to our Boss'. Ed Olsen at partsguyed.com gives great discounts on genuine Ford parts.

To start it'd be nice to see the gauge pod, trans cooler scoop, brake ducts, LS Wheels in both RED and BLACK.

Andy

OK ;)

This list was swiped in whole from a Corner-Carvers post. I did not assemble, nor check this list. Some of the part numbers, don't yet work at the Ford Racing site. Also, some of these parts are not Boss parts, but parts that are similar. I believe the original intent of this list was for GT owners to create their own home-brew Boss.

YMMV. Professional driver on closed course. Do not attempt. Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball. Don't shoot the messenger. Good luck.

Jimmy you rock! 8) I was HOPING to get something like that over the course of weeks and dozens of pages...

2012 Boss racer

Does anyone know the part # for the adjustable shocks? My boss was delivered last Friday, but the adjustment dial was broken off of the passenger side front shock. I am working with my dealer, but he says the only thing he has found so far says that it is the same as the regular gt. Anyone have any info?

I have found on Ford Parts.com the Motorcraft part # of AST-12238(Boss racing) or AST-12239(Boss) for the front Boss struts $492.75 each
The rears are ASH-12284(Boss Racing) or ASH-12285 (Boss) for $450.67 ea. The part #s should be BR3Z-18124-* front and BR3Z-18125-* rear. I was thinking of going with these but will stick with my Koni Yellow adjustables. I believe the Boss parts are made by Tokio. Good luck and make them fix that car.

Thanks for the info! I am still a little confused though. Is BR3Z-18124-AST-12239 the part # or is it just BR3Z-18124 or is it just AST-12239. I just want the shock it would have been delivered with from the factory.

The AST and ASH part numbers are the Motorcraft branded service part numbers. The BR3Z numbers are Ford parts and service part #s. I couldn't get the complete Ford part #s which could have an -A, -B, -C or -D at the end depending on what Mustang they go on. The parts counter at your dealer should be able to decipher the proper # for your car now that you can show them you know the system. I find that parts guys will blow you off if they have to do a little research to find a number, this is especially true when a new model comes out or if you are looking for an unusual part.

2012 Boss racer

So......does anyone know if the FL500S oil filter that is on the regular 5.0s is supposed to be the replacement filter for the boss? I am attempting to do the first oil change and when I got to the filter I realized it is shorter than a FL500s filter. The filter on the boss is 3 1/4 inches long. The FL500s filter is 4 inches long. It looks like it would fit, but I don't want to put the wrong filter on there. There are numbers on the bottom of the filter but I can't get them to match with any replacement filter. The numbers on the bottom are:

8121510Y 23:26
9C2E- 6714-AA, C336J,

I know 9C2E- 6714-AA is a part number but I couldn't find any thing that matched it.

Any help guys?

2012 Boss racer

I thought it had plenty of room. I was just surprised that it had a shorter filter on it from the factory. I don't know why they would have put a smaller (shorter) filter on it. I guess I will use the FL500s.

Thanks again Steve!

Wheel part numbers and prices

Hey look, I didn't swipe somebody else's list this time! My own work from fordparts.com. Factory wheel part numbers and prices (ulp):

You guys sure don't look for stuff very hard. ;)

Jimmy

Ha Ha. I'm not sure what I'm going to do but if I do replace the wheels I'll probably keep the originals. I change my mind frequently but I've been stuck on the SVT PP wheels for several weeks now. After seeing the stock wheels a couple of weeks ago I really like them. I'm also considering painting the stock wheels KB or white. I'll post the PS someone did for me with KB and white in my wheel thread when I'm back at my computer next week. I was hoping the original wheels would be less expensive. If they were I was thinking of buying another set and have two painted white and two painted KB so I could decide which way to go. I obviously have too much time on my hands. :). I still haven't ruled out black stripes but it's not likely I'll do that.
