Oil filter wrench

I did my 1st oil change yesterday, tried to buy a filter wrench locally but had no luck so I made my own.GT350%20Filter%20Wrench%20A_zpscabrj65r.jpg

If you're making them specially, could you make a really special one? How about a machined outer diameter and a small flange, maybe with an o-ring slot, around the outside of the wrench body so you can press-fit a length of rigid plastic or aluminum tubing that's long enough to go over the filter and wide enough to catch all the oil that leaks out as you unscrew it? Basically, it becomes a bucket with the wrench at the bottom. A 3" or so length of 3-1/4" clear polycarbonate tubing might be enough, depending on how much oil you have to catch. I haven't changed mine yet, but I hear it makes a real mess.
