That is true, the bumpers would warp all to hell with that heat. The dealer might not be as careful to not wipe with contaminated rags as you will be.Jeff said:Multiple bake steps at much higher temps. Just the body is painted so there is no worry of melting plastics and wires. Front and rear bumpers actually are painted at a different time from the body as they won't stand up to the heat the body is subjected to during baking.

Mine was built in November and delivered to the dealer in January so I wasn't worried about curing and waxed it the first day it wasn't raining. Also they put the stripes on while it is fresh, I don't know if they are porous but they don't seem to hurt the paint.
