Hey folks,
Sorry it is not a Mustang, but at least it's got a Ford engine . This car is tight...completely gone over by the folks at SASCO at VIR, which is where the car is currently located.
NOT a Road Atlanta school car. This is a truly well-kept car for track or race.
The previous owner had sent the car back to the Panoz factory and it was gone through from end to end including a full mechanical restoration, fresh body panels, and paint. The original owner decided that the original 450 HP Ford 351 was not enough motor, so it was converted to the current configuration. I have had it on the track once at VIR and put 2.5 hours on it.
The previous owner, an experienced racer, had shaken the car down before I purchased it. It is very quick and forgiving with no bad habits. This is a fast, well sorted car that is easy to maintain, fantastic handling & brakes, parts are reasonably priced and available from Ford, Coleman or your local parts guy.
Mechanical: Engine is a fresh 598 HP, 393 CID Ford with dyno time. All the best parts including SVO block, Ford Racing CNC ported heads, Custom Comp Cams hydraulic roller cam, Eagle rotating assembly, custom TAPP radiator with internal oil cooler, Spal 18 electric fan, oil line upgraded to -12SS, three quart Accusump system, Stewart water pump, KRC adjustable power steering, 50A Denso micro alternator, KRC flat belt system, MSD billet distributor, and MSD 6-ALN ignition with separate adjustable spark retard. Factory option long tube Headman headers and custom 3 in ceramic coated exhaust designed and installed at the Panoz factory. Trick TKO 600 transmission from Liberty Gears, Quarter Master V-Extreme clutch and flywheel, Ford 9 inch differential with Detroit True Track and Watts Linkage, Tex internal oil pump with external cooler.
Chassis: SCCA certified tube frame with ABS body panels, JLM rear spoiler pillars, Penske shocks, Brembo 4 piston brakes at all 4 corners, Kirkey road race seat, window net, ABM hard wired transponder (setup for Motorola radio), Cool Shirt system, all mechanical Pro-Comp gauges, EGT gauge, adjustable shift light, brake bias gauges, custom drivers console with Morose fused switches and lights. Two extra sets of one-piece BBS wheels and tires, Electric adjustable outside mirrors, Fire Suppression system with halon bottle, dual electric cutoff switches, and a bunch of spare body panels.
Other: Factory GTS car cover, a bunch of spare parts, oil filters and oil, clutch & brake fluids, some special tools, and all manuals / documentation of restoration including dyno sheet, wiring diagrams, piping diagrams, etc.
