I am thinking about asking to have my Strut Bar signed - does anyone know if the engine heat will affect the signature? (sharpie pen)

Personally, I would get something unique to the Boss signed. Like the intake manifold :) I am thinking of leaving my airbag cover off and replacing it with a GT one, or a fake Boss one. My car sits out in the sun too often so I want to protect the signature.

I sent in my Fuse box Cover on a Saturday and got it back that next Wednesday!!!
I also have George Follmer, Jack Roush, Jack Roush JR,Shelby Blackstock (Reba's Son), Roger Miller (deceased), Lee Holman of Holman and Moody on mine. All have Boss Racing heritage, New and Old.
Also the guy you are email Jim Dilamarter is a 2 time Indy 500 winning crew chief.

Jim is really nice to deal with. I didn't know that he was a 2 Time Indy 500 Winning Crew Chief !! But he did tell me he is Canadian ;)

I too had mine signed several years ago by Parnelli on the airbag cover.

What is everyone doing to help protect the signature? I just avoid any type of contact with it.

If there is a cover, spray or something let me know. I had Parnelli and the late Paul Brown sign using a paint pen marker.

I plan on mailing it in when I am winterizing her and will look for a replacement cover to put back in. Any of you guys who converted into fully caged race cars still have one you are willing to sell?

Canada Post finally delivered my Signed Airbag cover!!....unfortunately they didn't deliver it to my house!!!
So they are trying to figure out where they delivered it to but I don't have my hopes up that who ever had the package delivered to there front door is going to return it to the Post Office as it has been 3 days now and they can't figure it out :( !!
It looks like I will be spending $500 to buy a new one from rip off the Canadians Ford and then send it down again for the signature.
My advice is to make sure you have your item for Parnelli to sign registered requiring a signature upon receipt and insured for its value so you are not in tears like I am !!!
Due to being in Canada my return shipping didn't work so Jim just sent it back regular post unfortunately ! No insurance.

Bummer. Buy a new one in the states and have it delivered directly to PJ.

I was just thinking that I am going to the Phoenix NASCAR Races in Nov so I just looked up Airbag Dash Cover Part #04338 on a Phoenix Ford Dealers Site and it is $394 US which is $440 Can so I guess we aren't getting ripped off up North as much as I thought.
But I think if I ship it from the Phoenix to PJ I will at least be able to pre pay the return shipping to Canada with all the insurance and tracking.
Hopefully they useless B**CH that delivers my mail remembers where she delivered it to and gets it back to me !!!

If you email Jim and ask him if you can work out a deal for the return shipping he will likely work with you. I just had a similar incident, however I shipped mine from the US and the lady at USPS informed me that I could not pay for return shipping as the container weighed over 13 oz. Jim has been willing to work with me and I also insured it on the way down and sent an email to Jim asking him if he would be so kind as to insure it on the way back. No problem. Also, I am a Canadian and in light of your bad luck, I make quite frequent trips to the US to pick up parts so in order to help a forum member, if you would like, you can ship it to my US address and I can bring it back and send it to you once in Canada. Have you tried to email Steve at Tasca to see what his pricing would be like? Let me know how this works for you and sorry about the bad luck.

Thanks for the offer I appreciate it but if they don't find my package I will be going to the US in Nov and I will make sure I get the return shipping all pre paid with all the bells and whistles from Fed Ex and not the useless mail system. If that doesn't work pre paying to Canada then I will use my US.com address where I have some control over the shipping to Canada.
I just still can't believe they lost this package I have never had one lost before and any other package I wouldn't care !!

Yeah I hear you, sorry to hear about this. I don't trust anyone when it comes not damaging or not losing a package of any value. I've had far too many packages damaged, lost or stolen to not fear for them. I hope you get this sorted out in a timely fashion. As a tiny bit of a break, I believe even without buying "insurance" from USPS, I believe you still get a standard $50 insurance. If this is the case then at least your shipping on your newly acquired AB cover will be covered anyway. Just trying to help you look on the bright side. Good luck and keep us posted on what omes of this.

I wonder if that Clear Bra stuff would protect it? Just an idea.

I finally received my Signed Airbag cover!!!! ;D It was sitting in the Purolator office as it was delivered to them because it had their address and my name on it....so I guess you are wondering why it would have Purolator's address and my name on it, well the really dumb Purolator lady put their address on the package when she shipped it to Parenelli instead of mine I'm not entirely sure why possibly something about pre paying the return shipping that didn't work anyway. So when Jim returned my package he just copied the address that was on it. Then the search began, that was some stressful

Lmao, that's hilarious. I just received mine on Tuesday as well with my own shipping issues at the hands of USPS and Fedex. It has been really good working with the crew there at GodspeedPJ and Jim, everyone went the extra mile to make sure this all worked out. Thanks again OP for discovering this.

Anyone know how hard it is to get Follmers autograph on an airbag cover?

I seen him at the 50th at the Saleen display, maybe contact Saleen to see if he has a schedule of appearances and hopefully there will be one within driving distance.
Or better yet friend him or message him on Facebook for an address.
His website doesn't list contact info. Hope this helps
