A light battery is a good way to drop weight, but it's not a mindless one. If you want to stick with a more reliable battery, but also want to reduce the detriment of carrying the extra weight, then move it to the back of the car. We all want to be 1 gram over the minimum weight, but improving the weight distribution is the next best thing to dropping the weight altogether and it's not a difficult or expensive project.

True but keeping it in the same location and dropping 20+ lbs (depending on battery) is a lot easier than adding more cabling and weight. Just my .02

Essentially, there’s many ways to skin a cat. Or in todays case cook up a Tri Tip.

Update: Finished development of the Carbon Fiber infused 3D Printed Battery Tray.

Since uploading the video yesterday I modified the top strap design to allow for greater ease of use for the maintenance button and lights.




The change in design added a few grams going from 209G to 217G.
