polished rear brake calipers

so I have had the rear apart on the boss for about a month now. working on putting 4.10's in. got bored and started sanding on the rear brakes. started doing the one caliper bracket.

that turned into doing the caliper itself and painting other parts black. looks really good and tempted to do the fronts.

Hi,

How did you smooth it out, sanding or grinding, I was wondering if a buffing wheel and polishing compound would work, it would not get the smooth surface, but might look interesting?

Save the dawn for your dishes!!!
I used a flap wheel on a grinder to smooth it out. Then used various tools to get all the sanding marks out. Wish I had a buff wheel. I used to but got rid of it cause of a move.

The calipers are steel. I am using a product called shineseal to seal it and keep it from rusting.
