Porting Boss intake and tune ???

I am planning on porting my intake. I currently have an AED tune. Will I need to get it re-tuned or can the PCM compensate for any change???

I doubt that you *need* to, but I think you should. At the very least ask Shaun/AED.

I haven't heard of any issues without tuning, but I wouldn't want to find out the hard way. Shaun will know for certain.

I've also seen pretty wide ranges of material removal and cleanup. Are you going for just cleanup or maximum removal and re-shaping?

I suspect any improvements from a Tune would require a trip to AED’s shop for a custom Dyno Tune.

I could be wrong, but I’ve never seen a Tune specific to IM Port finishing.

However port matching (blueprinting) is a nice way to improve flow.

So far, long story short, no tune is needed as per Shaun at AED. I'm waiting for Brett Barber to get back with me on getting it ported professionally.

Yup.

I talked with Brett Barber yesterday. He charges about $250 to professionally port the intake. He claims a 10 hp gain, again Shaun says no tune needed. No brainer for me....

hmmm,,,, the extra 250 gets you closer to a CJ manifold..... But who am I too say! I took the cheap route and added a used airaid CAI and accufab TB... For about 500 bucks. Must admit, with Shauns tune the car came alive.

yeah the serialized boss intake is what helps make the boss a boss. Otherwise its just another performance mustang with catalog parts. Nothing wrong with that if you BCRACECAR or performance is just that important.
