Protecting a carbon splitter

I’m sure this is an ever changing issue, but what’s the current best practice for protecting a carbon splitter? My initial thought is some 3M clear film or something similar.

The main fear is the front of the splitter getting sand blasted on track, then compromising the structural integrity.

Is this a 2-3 season lifecycle with proper care?

Thanks!
