So I broke my MM Camber plate stud and one was loose. Right before LS this past Sunday. Posted it on FB hoping someone had sound advice or a resource since MM has a two week lead time for the plate. All I have to say is the guys from the TMO forum were cool. The FB keyboard bandits, HOLY shiznit. Such drama. Thank you guys for being here and keeping it real. You know who you are. And I’ll probably leave all those groups and stick here.

The folks here are helpful , not so much reactionary ---- that is what fixes things not rants ( though your little rant was quite appropriate and done quite nicely, ha). We like having you around here, BJ!

Yes, FB is a cesspool and not much more, I avoid it like the plague!
You should consider getting rid of those MM plates, nothing but trouble with those bolts breaking and maxed out at -2.1 camber. The bearing will seize up sooner or later as well and the strut shaft will get damaged as a result.
Get some Vorshlags and get -3.5 camber!

I saw this statement and had to ask.....how? I replaced my MM plates with Vorshlags and agree they are beautiful pieces. But after install all I could get was around 2.5. I called Vorshlag and they blamed the offset Cortex struts. The guys at Phoenix did some grinding with my old Cortex struts and with the MM plates I had up to -5.0 camber. So I ended up grinding the Vorshlag plates to allow more movement and then had to do some offset grinding on the strut's upper bolt hole to get close to -3.8 now. But it was a lot of tedious work to get there.

It's amazing how FB brings out the inner troll in most people - even people who are normally nice, helpful people. It's just the nature of that platform. It's disappointing to see some of the replies you got in that FB post, especially from a couple of the people who represent businesses. But again, that's just what FB instills in people - but posturing and troll-like attitudes are commonplace.

True, I could invest more time trying to moderate that stuff in the TMO FB group but it's a waste of energy, since it's widespread across all of FB. And then you get people complaining about censorship. There's no use in trying to change behavior over there.

Frankly the situation is true on many Forums and that it part of why this is such a fantastic place. It understands that folks here are a bunch of Mustang Maniacs , and members realize they will likely meet each other at the track, so they keep it fun, pleasant and avoid nasty confrontation. Helpful, interesting tech, cool track videos, camaraderie, we are all just a bunch of car crazies and that is all we really want to discuss or talk about!!

One more reason that I'm not on FB (besides constantly getting banned for my political views) there is a mustang group on MeWe where basically all of the FB outcasts have migrated to, but it is not road race oriented.
The good news.. there's no censorship on MeWe by the admin, it's only done by the page owner
The bad news..there's no censorship by the admin, so some clown posting (random porn, etc) has to be culled out by the page owner.
They also don't mine your info at all.
Maybe that would be a possibility for TMO instead of the cesspool on FB

I was quit shocked by the guys that represent companies as well. i was considering their product since it was in stock but after that I decided they lost my business. I must say MM customer service was on top of it and not having inventory is out of their control.

i’m that way with SPL....i had A question about installing their lower control arms and their tech support is the design engineer....he told me literally everything that went into the design of the product and then Said he will, for free, send me the magnaride bracket he just printed up on their new 3d printer.......

they also do a trade up program....if you contact them about going to their brand from a competitor they offer deep Discounts

If there's no moderation taking place on MeWe it will likely turn into another FB at some point. From what I've found over the past two decades+, you typically need at least some basic form of moderation to keep things focused in online communities if you want them to be useful and viable long term. There might be a few exceptions.

Regardless, I can't see opening another watering hole for TMO on any other platform unless we absolutely need visibility there, as it will only serve as a competing venue for this forum. The TMO FB group is primarily used as a fishing net for the forum, which realistically only pulls in a small number of people who become valuable, contributing members here anyway. I only keep it open to bring visibility to the forum and to give people there the opportunity to see that a quality place exists where they can participate without the toxicity and trolls.

Back on topic though, Byron, what are you planning to do for your situation?

I've been trying to get SPL to get involved here, but I think since one or two of our existing vendors carry their products they are hesitant, well, that and because they are limited on time they can invest in being involved here.

this is as bulletproof as it gets..trust me, with AJ 2 wheeling over the curbs it has definitely been stress tested. This is what Phoenix did to docs302 car, I'm sure they can do yours if you are close to them.

i’d rather not cut the tower. Killing w birds with one stone on the spl’s......getting spherical bushings on the tension rod and control arm, plus Properlydoing -3.5 camber
