Radar/Laser detector recommendation..............

Two tickets in less than a week. I gotta get a detector!
I want one that will warn of laser and radar, and of speed cameras and light cameras also.
It has been thirty years since i had a detector. What do you fellows recommend?

I recently purchased a Cobra XRS 9970G. I have been really happy with it. It has a built in GPS that lets you know when you are approaching any camera traps. Works like a charm. It has 7 Radar and 6 Laser bands covered as well as 2 safety bands (for emergency vehicle notification). All features seem to work well, also it is not nearly as annoying as some of the other detectors I have used in terms of false warning and such. I paid a little over $200 for it on Amazon.

For what your asking for, you'll want an Escort 9500ix. I personally use a V1, but this does not provide red light camera data.

I will caution you this: Does not matter what detector you have, Laser will get you if you are seriously speeding. All the laser encounters I have had, I had a visual on the laser operator before he locked on my car. You might get lucky and get a laser warning from a high end detector, but you may not.

How about the escort 9500ci? It looks like that has a laser jammer built in.. Also looks a lot more expensive, but might be a handy thing to have if your state allows it.

I use a Valentine and it can be purchased online from valentine. There is not a good way to detect laser. It puts out a straight beam of light (which does not spread like regular radar) so a detector will only pick it up when he hits your car. The best way to defeat laser is with a laser blocker but in many areas they are illegal as it is transmitting a signal which is against FCC and many local regulations. I have used detectors for years and, in my opinion the valentine unit is the best I have used

I have this on my GT-R. A bit pricey, but awesome. Saved my butt a few times....that and a little extra throttle.....
