Hey all, ive got a 2014 3.7 V6 mustang, ive already got quite a few suspension parts to make the handling feel alot better than stock. Im currently looking for some suggestions to help keep the car reliable as it is my daily, the motors got 130k on it and im planning to change all the fluids soon. What other maintenance parts would you guys recommend to keep the car reliable as a daily but also being able to be a fun weekend/autocross car aswell? Thanks :)
 
The Cyclone engine is a workhorse. Mine was running great when I sold it at 160K miles. Follow maintenance schedule but recommend increasing the rate of transmission & rear end fluid changes. If the car is not tracked regularly, I'd say about every 50K miles as opposed to the recommended 150K miles. More if tracked regularly.

Things that I needed to replace over the lifetime of my (V6) car were engine mounts, front control arms, the alternator and a couple of the accessory pulleys. Also recommend checking any parts with rubber components like the rear control arms. I've taken to swapping out my strut mounts with my struts as I've found significant wear on them when replacing the struts.

If you start having shifting issues, your clutch probably needs replacement.

Oh yeah -- and if your car is kept outdoors for any length of time, make sure to inspect the 2 rubber grommets at the bottom of the firewall that allow water to drain. If the passenger side fills up, water will leak into the passenger side footwell near to the BCU. If the driver's side fills up, it'll short out the wiper motor. I learned about these the hard way :p

I bought a salvage 2013 with 136K miles on it. This was absolutely the case! Pine needles, leaves, lots of dirt/dried mud, and surface rust starting to grow. Access under the cowl panels.

So you've got a V6 chassis too? That's cool :) I thought I was the only one!

You've got that rust handled now! I still got a couple areas to get on mine.
