First off I would like to thank Greg from Elgin Racing for sending these machined calipers that dont need to be twisted back in!
This is huge for quick brake pad swaps while endurance racing! Also answered all my questions about setup and their car.
Wish them luck during the Devil in the Dark the same week we are at the Glen!

I was actually at Thunderbolt during your maiden voyage. I remember your car sounded amazing. Tell me more about these calipers that don't need twisted. I hate doing that!! Where can I get them?

Unscrew the piston from the caliper. You will need to machine either the threads off the screw or the threads off of the bore. You can also machine both and add a sleeve.

Interesting. Does anyone provide this service or swap out calipers that have had it done?

After getting back after the last race at NJMP we had some issues that had formed in the car along with some upgrades with our final race at Summit Point. The first order of business was looking into the rear axle. Something happened to it but wasnt sure what at this point.

It turns out that the actual axle tube had rotated in the housing. It had broken off the bottom plug weld as seen in the picture. I thought that since we were road racing we wouldn't need our tubes welded but I was wrong! Get your tubes welded!

What happens when you rear axle is trash? You pick up a Cortex Cambered rear end of course!
Boy is this a sexy piece. We are currently running it at -1.5* of camber.

Next on the list was to install ABS in the car, I actually had to buy an entire V6 to steal the brake lines and computer out of it.

After that we were off to Summit Point for our test day! Everything went great and car was dialed in, So we stuffed it in the trailer for 2 weeks getting ready for the race.

Usually we have a couple other drivers that come with us, but for this race it was just my dad and I. Over the course of the weekend we ran 9 hours each and 300+ laps. We ran a really clean race both days and came out with our first win on both days! Also ended up finishing 4th overall out of the 55 Cars their! For now have these photos, In car video will be added later!

@the5 , do you have a general estimation of how much wider the CorteX cambered rear axle is at the hub face?

I have heard there is a rear track width increase with this axle. My rear wheels already poke a bit due to the odd offset for S197 but I am trying to understand how much farther out they will be if I switched to the CorteX rear. Not sure if I can get away with it even with the camber.

I'm interested in the fuel cell install.
What cell did you use and how did you handle the pump and fuel gauge?
Also, how do you pick up fuel in both left and right turns? Did you use a hydromat?

I havent noticed any greater track width with the axle, we Run our car high in ride right for endurance racing and dont have an issue with the wheels hitting the fenders.

Next Time i am in the garage I will measure it.

The Cell is a fuel safe cell but I forgot the exact model. It has its own surge tank in-cell and pump in cell.

As for Fuel gauge I run a Racepak dash and ordered the tank with a 0-90 Ohm sensor

BBY Racing Takes 1st in class, and 2nd Overall in SCCA Halloween 8 hr Enduro at Virginia International Raceway!

I didnt think we could end off the season better than the last race but we made it happen! We dicided to venture to our first SCCA endurance race. Since it was a last minute decision we ran the race with only 2 drivers - Eric and Alex Rockwell. No pit crew, and no off track support. Great father/son effort against some high level professional competition. Many Imsa, Continental Series, and Pirelli World Challenge Teams were left in the dust! Beating them was more satisfying than we care to admit!

1st place was 1.5 laps ahead, and if we had more pit and paddock help, we could have easily have won. 4 pit stops X 4.5 min each vs. their 2.5 min stops = .5 lap win. Oh well, next time we will plan a little further in advance. Still very happy with our finish and with our 2016 season.

The new Canards worked great and could defiantly feel the improved the front end grip in the Esses. We still have a few tricks up our sleeve for 2017!

The fastest lap I ran was a 2:10.85, Mind you we were also on 275 200tw Street tires, and the car had more!

That 2:10.5 lap was held up at least a second by the Miata up the Esses. Great car and great driving.

Yes, next year we are moving to a 305 Tire and hoping to pick up a decent amount, Also I wasn't shifting into second Into Oak Tree.

How'd they hold up?

They have Held up great, We put over 1000 Track Miles On them in our races (9 hours Each day) and they still have life in them. If your looking for all out Grip in a Street Tire go with the RE-71R, But they dont last the weekend for us but are about 1-2 seconds faster.

Both those tires only seem to go up to 285 in 18s. What brand were you considering?
