S550 Rear LCA bearings ..only for drag racers?

I was told by someone that installing rear LCA Spherical bearings will introduce binding with road racing cars and they are mostly for dragracing. Any truth to this, it confused me because I don’t understand how it could be true?

Whoever said that is most certainly mistaken. Great upgrade for road course car, prob the single best rear suspension upgrade (other than coilovers) IMO.

They actually reduce binding and allow the lca to cycle freely. The two inboard bushings are so far out of plane that with the stock bushings in there they create a couple hundred pounds of resistance by themselves. Vorshlag’s s550 build thread has a pic of one of their guys hanging from a RLCA that has no shock connected, and still not at full droop.

Thanks guys, that’s what I thought. I bought them for my GT but never got around to installing them. It should make for a great first track day with the car.. I just picked up the Shelby a couple days ago, drove it home, parked it in the garage and left for vacation.

Right now the only plans for the car are the bushings, IRS Brace, CFTP springs, DSC Sport controller. (And PPF, 😂)
