Afternoon everyone, sorry for the delayed post but I just got back yesterday.
Overall a successful weekend given that it was the first time we had the car on track. Chased a few problems, as would be expected.
Practice day Friday. A severe brake vibration caused by a bind between hat and rotor in the front traced to mis-assembly (our opinion) from factory, and an engine surge/limp
Practice and qualifying Saturday - Broken exhaust at the first weld from the header (factory weld did not penetrate, again new parts), surge somewhat better. Thanks to Burtin Racing for re-tigging both sides
Race Sunday - the surge/limp is back, greatly reduced power everywhere and 10 mph off the top (144-154), windshield banner coming off meant a pitstop to remove.
Overall, when the surge was semi gone, we got down to a 2:19, but it was a very short session. Think 214-215's are possible with the current development. Keep in mind the car has the stock Magnaride, and stock engine/tune.
James Canelaria from F.A.S.T got down into the 2:13's and carried the Mustang honors (YAY JAMES, glad you got that fender fixed!)
Billy Griffin managed 2:14's in his GT-4, but said he was down on power for some reason. I would expect that to change for Atlanta.
See you in Atlanta on March 26-28 with SVRA
