Shift Boot Retainer

I ordered a rally shift knob from EPCO and have never swapped one out before and was wondering if I will need a shift boot retainer when I go to put the new one on. I did a search but did not really find the answer.

I'm pretty sure you will need one. The stock one is attached to the stock shift ball and is not removable AFAIK.

Save the dawn for your dishes!!!
yes you will need one if you want it to look right. MGW sells a delux jam nut for that it looks really nice its what I have with my shifter ball.

The stock one IS attached...and I found out the hard way it IS removable! But NOT recommended!!! Lol

I had to get a new boot retainer too when I put a new shift knob on. Good luck.
