Probably won't be putting a roll bar in the car since I wouldn't be able to use the rear seats anymore, unless there is a legal/safe way to have the middle of the hoop removed.

If you move up the present generation of Mustangs you could use the Watson bar and remove after track use.

Those who are doing so report less than an hour for removal or install.

If I got a cage for my car I think I wouldn't want something bolt in so that is another downside, should be safe-ish though without a cage as long as I don't have harnesses.

We have been looking around. There are several good options, there is a notch in the area that already has the Cobra IRS installed but the owner wants 5500 for it which most of the interior and the entire drive train will be replaced so there is no point in purchasing anything other than a project.

I wonder if the motor is toast what we should do for a motor swap. I am not a fan of the old 5.0 and I am not a huge fan of the idea of doing a new 5.0 swap since the weight and everything is so high on the motor. I still think I could convince my dad to do an LS swap.

You won't consider just buying a C5 because of Ford brand loyalty, but you'll shove an LS in a Fox? :)

Be careful out there!

Yeah I know it sounds dumb, but lighter motor that responds well to mods, more torque without a blower and dry sup oil pan is appealing.

That is a great find, thank you. I had thought about helping my dad build a car but I may be moving in 6 months-1 year so that wouldn't work out to well.
