Three years ago I installed a Steeda adjustable third link (p/n 555-4105) reusing the OEM bracket. I recently purchased Steeda's bracket (p/n 555-4035). The new bracket includes a mounting hole that is further forward than stock, meaning the link will need to be adjusted longer. Steeda used to sell a kit that included a longer adjuster and threaded rod to swap into the 4105 link. It's been discontinued (although the instructions still describe it). I called Steeda and spoke with Phil. He confirmed that the "kit" is no longer available. After confering with someone in the fab shop Phil told me the old link can be installed into the new bracket without modification, other than adjusting its length.
After wrestling for three days with the old bracket (see separate thread) I finally removed it. I measured the distance from the forward chassis mounting bolt on the old bracket to the differential mounting bolt (center to center). I then bolted up the new bracket to the old link and adjusted the length of that assembly to match what I replaced. Here is the result:

I centered the adjuster to maximize thread coverage at both ends-approximately 3/4" to 7/8". Will this be enough? Is the adjusting assembly stout enough at this length? Thanks in advance for you help.

Never mind--can't use the forward mounting point on the bracket without significant modification to the sheet metal on the gas tank.
