The 2022 S650 Mustang

As we anxiously await the debut of the next GT500 later this month at the Detroit Auto Show there's another Mustang on the horizon and it's the S650 or seventh generation Mustang. It will report-ably ride on the new CD6 platform, which will be shared by other Ford cars, and could potentially be offered in AWD.

What would you like to see on the new platform?
AWD?
TT V6?
True DCT?
More Power?
Plug-In EV?

Here's a few links with some speculation:

Me.... I would love to see the mustang with a bullet proof manual and 500lbs lighter.... with a V8 naturally..... ") Time for a Alloy Mustang!

Can you imagine a Mustang weighing 3000lbs with 500 n/a hp?? What! Would be a car too put on the must have list...

Too early to tell. We were also told that the S550 would be lighter and leaner than the S197 at this stage in the game, and we all know how that turned out.

I think this refresh is more about cost control and meeting tightening government requirements, I don’t think we will see much innovation on the performance side of things as much as refinement of the manufacturing techniques and connectivity.

I also have heard rumblings of a smaller more efficient engine supplanting the coyote family. I think we might get one more v8 as a swan song in a mainline variant.

It'll have to be a marvel of engineering to try and please everyone who wants such diverse things as cooling for a high output V8 to providing the framework for Battery Electric.

Build what the should have in 1965, 427 SOHC, Aluminum block variant of the current 6.2L truck engine and drop some weight. SLA front suspension.(I hate struts). Still build all the other models so we can make this affordable.
