(I originally put this in The Paddock, but I figured I'd share it here, too.)
So, I guess I've been playing with Mustangs for a little while. This is from the Usenet (an old internet message board) and written by a guy name Scott Griffith. He had a 1986 GT and spent time playing around the Bay Area on track days. This is his build.
At the time, I was in school and had a '79 Pace car which was in various states of disrepair and E-Street Prepared. I built it close to this with everything being either second hand, gimme or by scrimping to my last dollar. While full of great memories, in retrospect, it was a pretty evil car to drive fast! Much more than that, though, it was an education that has lasted me a lifetime. I've never met the guy, but...Chapeau, Scott! This is 65 pages about everything from top to bottom. I'm glad I didn't know that you're not supposed to 'Print the Internet' back then or I'd never have it. We moved in September and I found the old file box that had this.
About late 1996 I started having other cars get my attention and that was the end of my Fox-body adventure. The IPC was pretty much whipped by that point, anyway. I have no idea what happened to it.
I want to be clear, this is not something to emulate with a modern car or even a modern Fox build. Everything you'll find here has been replaced, redesigned or somehow improved. I just thought it might be interesting to show everyone how we went about it 30 years ago.
Here's a link to download the PDF.
