Yesterday, I removed the Baer 13” rotor kit and installed a set of stock rotors in an attempt to mechanically shift brake bias without an adjuster.

Opted for a set of cheap, Wagner rotors with painted centers.

The rotor I had versus the one that (hopefully) makes the car stop properly!

Finally got around to cleaning the axle up a little and installing the new Yukon logos. Too bad you’ll never see them again.

Suddenly this looks very pathetic but I’m hopeful for results.

Well, started to hack the cobra bumper and it became apparent it was simpler to put the old, busted up Saleen bumper back on. I didn’t want to cut the C2 splitter up and I’m going to sell it. The Saleen bumper cleared the 315’s but I had to trim my fenders a little. I’ll run it, as is, until I replace it with a new one. I’ll be dammed if cosmetic issues sideline me.

(My times are the 53.588 row.)

First autocross of the 2023 season and the car didn’t have any mechanical issues for the FIRST TIME EVER!! Here are my reflections of
performance:

1. Cold weather just sucks. The 315’s really do grip quite well but it was a fine line between grip & slip. Rear grip was good but it was cold so tail happy was just unavoidable with heavy throttle.

2. I’m having a tough time mentally coordinating/overlapping brake, steering and throttle input. Found myself either braking too late and turning too sharp to compensate or turning too early and having to brake too soon for the next segment. Suppose this is a seat time thing.

3. Carrying speed through elements was a challenge and that’s all me. I have no issues ripping around in my car but for some reason on course I just don’t.

4. Brakes are much improved over the last outing. Steering is good but it’s not light/quick enough for my taste. I’ve contacted KRC about tailoring this to my needs.

5. Weight. I’m still waiting on my Chris Carver to help me with corner weighing the car and setting bump steer. I need that number so I can start whittling it down to 3100.

6. Car *still* has a tendency to push on corner exit but will rotate if you lift throttle some. Could’ve been the cold weather but it wasn’t because I was over cooking any corners

The only things I can currently adjust are the sway bars and tire pressure. I’m considering a good set of adjustable dampers but I’m midway through collecting SLA parts and I’m holding off a bit on this.

Knocked a side skirt extension off when I hit a cone
