Thought some of you might like to see how I upgraded my cheap tire machine
to handle low profile/and or race tires. I have an Atlas chinese tire machine, got 10-12 years ago.

Found this bead ram setup, not designed for my machine, but not hard
to install with a little fab work.

Made my own mount plate, not to hard to adapt it.

That solved the issue of getting the bead down to the recessed area on rim.

Also has a cone adapter for pushing down center of rim, to catch lower edge of rim with plastic protectors, and
a large disk to hold up back side of tire, to get second bead off.

But still sometimes had to use a pipe over a pry bar to get top bead over
the head. Found this thing on E-bay. Thought it was going to be a POS
for $300, but works pretty good. Attached right to std 28-30 mm mount
on bottom of hex rod that most tire machine heads have.

Also needed a way to get to the TPMS sensor on really wide and/or
deeper dish rims without removing tire, as it tries to rip bead every time
I try to get a tire off these rims. So I made some extensions for the
rollers on the bead ram...

So for about a grand and a little fab work, you can update your std turntable
tire machine to a leverless machine with a bead ram, of which go for about
4 grand these days.
