To coyote or LS3, oooooh the decision...

Ok guys I have a 97 Cobra built for autocross and Optima's Ultimate street car challenge. I have mostly driven the car for autocross, looking forward to some track days down at Omaha next summer and plan on keeping it street worthy. Has a mostly stock 4v 4.6 and I'll be honest. It's a turd past 2nd gear. LS3 or Coyote?!?!? It seems it would require the least amount of work to go to coyote as k member, bellhousing will all bolt up. I'm not super serious and either one I build will not have more than 10K into it because I want something I can use without crying if/when I break it or need to rebuild. Not really worried about classing because I'm just in it for the fun.

I understand the LS3 can be less expensive and lighter and fit into a smaller footprint. Let's hear some real world arguments for either platform in MY SITUATION with my current setup. Anyone done similar?
