FRPP front tow ring and Watson Racing for the rear tow hook

Looks great. I'm leaning toward the FRPP front hook as well. Did you find a decent short strap for the front ring? Most of the strong straps I find have steel D rings on the ends and they look too large to fit through the FRPP ring.

I've looked at the instructions for both the FRPP front tow hook and the ZL1 center mount front tow hook, but don't see anything that requires either gets mounted in the center. Could either one of these be mounted offset to avoid the nose-ring look on the car? I realize ZL1 makes the bolt-on offset one, but I figured the install of the center-mount version would be stronger since you're drilling mounting holes, but could then do it off to the side of the crash beam.

FRPP front tow hook and Watson Racing for the rear tow hook

Any chance you could weight the stock rear support bar that came off to verify the weight reduction claims from Watson on that?

I believe that the supplied hardware plus the slight curve of the bumper reinforcement that the hook bolts to will cause the hook assembly to be misaligned and exit at an angle instead of being aligned with the axis of the car.

I did like several others above and went with the ZL-1, but chose the center mount, which I would recommend if take the time to pull the bumper cover off.

Can someone with the FRPP front hook post a macro shot, I mean really up close, maybe through the grill? I want to see what happens to that vertical plastic support strip after install. Thanks.

I have the front fascia removed. Since it was on the ground, I went ahead and installed new headlight bulbs, OPT-7 sequential turn signals, my FP Trans Cooler, Eibach front sway bar, -10 AM braided oil lines, ... and the ZL1addons tow hook bracket. I dont have a warm fuzzy feeling about it but it's part of a larger plan. One of the things that is unnerving to me is how it's mounted and the leverage that the hook has on the two relatively small bolts that mount the bracket to the crash bar. Those bolts are meant to hold that crash bar in place in the event of an accident. I doubt they'd fare well against that amount of thread shear. I removed them and installed all Grade 8 hardware.

The other thing that just doesn't sit well with me is the fit and finish of the tow hooks currently available. For the botique price you're paying, it sure looks like off the shelf parts mashed together. I'm working with Raceseng to produce a Tug Tow Hook that will use the mounting point of the ZL1addons bracket and be specific to the S550 platform. The thread engagement will be correct. i.e. There will not be a dozen threads exposed, when installed. The length will be correct. Meaning the hook will droop perpendicular to the ground. Not kicked out 45 degrees to avoid from laying on the lower portion of the fascia. And Raceseng's machining is oh so good. Plastic washers will not be needed and oddly coupled allen head hardware will not be used.

I run a Raceseng Tug on my Focus RS, along with some of their other parts on my GT350.

For anyone who's installed the front Ford Performance one, could it be flipped to be be mounted on the bottom side of the crash bar to be a little less conspicuous on the street?
