I know most have the stock Recaro seats and use them. My GT did not come with them so i was wondering if anyone has a good track seat recommendation. Basically i only need one and i will take it out when not at the track.

Thank you,

Dean.

I have a Sparco Pro ADV but that is probably overkill for most, not to mention it's fairly spendy before you pick up mounts and sliders.

I think the Corbeau FX1 is a good entry-level fixed-back seat: http://www.americanmuscle.com/corbeau-fx1-seats.html

Or check out what Vorshlag has to offer from Cobra: http://www.vorshlag.com/index.php?cPath=141_142_284

Well, the best way to choose a seat is to try on a bunch of them. Body styles differ, so finding a seat that fits YOU is the #1 priority.

Check with your local SCCA or NASA groups to see if there is a nearby shop that carries seats that you can sit in. Here in Colorado we have a Wine Country Motorsports store that stocks Cobra, Sparco & Recaro... so we are lucky. If there are no nearby stores, see if there will be any nearby SCCA or NASA events and walk the paddock. Most drivers will let you sit in a seat if you ask. Great way to check out what works / doesn't work as well as meet people.

Make sure that when you choose a seat that the belt openings fit your body type. For me, I needed a seat with shoulder harness openings that were high. The only seat I found that fit me in that area was the Cobra brand. I ended up with a Cobra Suzuka which I have also run previously in my M3. You'll want to make sure that the bottom portion of the shoulder harness opening is at or just slightly above your shoulders when sitting in the seat.

Check out the shipping fees on some of these seats as they can be expensive. I spoke to rehagen or vorshlag about their cobra seats but they said it would cost $150 per seat to ship.

Go to Lincoln and check out Speedway. When I went speedway, I had them pull 3 seats and sat in them before I decided on which one to buy.
