    Hello

I am working on my 2016 GT premium edition. The stock front seats are coming out and being replaced with Sparco Evo IIs.

I am looking for a way to modify the wiring to avoid the whole airbag issue.

This car has the vented leather seats and there are two wiring connectors.

    Thank yoou

Basically you need to wire in a 2 ohm resistor to the pigtail below the seat.

I'm installing a set of Cobra Suzuka seats on Planted bases this week, this video on Youtube is the only thing I've been able to find.
I'm hoping FORscan can turn off the seat modules but I have not found any information online yet.

On my tech pack 2016 GT350 the 2 ohm resistor worked correctly, and when installing a set of Sparco seats I did not have to disable the climate settings. Leaving the second smaller seat harness disconnected was enough - much like the Recaro don’t have the motors and omits the second harness. No trouble codes set.

I have a 16 track pack with only one connector.

I was able to get rid of the seatbelt chime.

But since I don’t have oem seatbelts or seats what resistors do I need? I don’t want to hack up my oem recaros to make this work.

    Here is the connector.

One Driver side Sparco seat installation is finally complete...Ok, I no longer have a little yellow airbag signal in my gauge cluster.

I bought and installed new seat wiring harnesses, 'pigtailed' the seat airbag harness with the 2.2 Ohm resistor and connected the stock seat belt buckle wiring.

Now for the slightly more exciting passenger side. I have all the mounting hardware and electrical bits and pieces. I am just mulling the decision on the fluid filled pressure pad / switch.

If i want to put the old seats back in do I have to solder the airbag sensor back on before I plug all the other other wiring in? Or will the airbag go off since I cut the plug off already.

I purchased two replacement seat wiring harnesses so I could re-install the stock seats without having to make cut existing connectors and wiring.

You do not have to solder the connector unless you want the dash warning lamp and no seat airbag.

I also moved the seat position location sensor over to the replacement harness.

Do you remember the part numbers for those harnesses?

I just did the same to my GT350 (2.2 ohm 1 watt resistor for the airbags, and bought a replcaement passenger side fluid cushion and a couple of seatbelt buckles on ebay). I was looking at the part numbers on Ford's website but couldn't find a definite answer so I just went to my local dealer, and they pulled everything for me, order it and I got my parts within 4 days and all plugged in perfectly.

Just explain you're swapping seats and need the wiring harnesses from a GT350 (or GT depending on your car) and they'll find it for you. Total was about 250$ for the wiring, the cushion and the buckles.

My company builds custom harnesses. If I knew the Ford part number I could have my sales manager look up what connectors Ford is using and build delete harnesses for a lot less than $250.
Most people buy Ford pigtails for $12-30.. we just use the actual part produced by Tyco, Molex, JST, Sumitomo, etc. and pay less than $1

I wanted to keep the seatbelt pretentioner system and the passenger occupancy cushion feature in my seats so that's why I went with OEM replacement harnesses, rather than trying to find which plug I need and then go through the hassle of building a harness. Puttin in a resistor to trick the only thing I don't need anymore was a lot less work for me.

Totally understand, but Harness By Hextall was started to ease problems like this and because we use actual OE suppliers and the same wire as Ford we produce a higher quality product than most atca price point that is affordable.

Totally agree with that ethos :). I was looking into a plug n play item for the S550 but even Ford had something for S197 but nothing for S550 :(. Also on mine I wanted to retain the seat track position sensors for both driver and passenger as they impact the airbag deployment speed / power according to the seat position. As my car still retains the stock airbags, that was a functionnality I wasn't ready to remove yet, along with the seat belts and passenger cushion, so it made more sense going with an OEM harness with just the airbag resistors in it :)

I have to get a Ford tech to look at it anyway as I forgot to unplug the battery before unplugging the seats (dumb guy moment x1000...) so I have the airbag light on now, and my code reader can't remove it...

I’m going to have a look at it. The only bling I want for my car is the FP Recaros.. but the 18-19 airbag changed so I may reluctantly have to bypass them while keeping the rest of the seat as is.
