Trunk lid hole cover?

Cleaning the inside of the trunk lid and found two clear plastic covers about the size of a nickel, stuck over holes at each corner. The holes would be at the bottom of the lid when the lid is open. It looks like these are drain holes and the covers should be removed. What is on your cars?

mine has the same thing. I dont think its a drain hole probably a hole from manufacturing process and they placed that over it to keep moisture out? purely a guess on my end.
