Trying to decide in between MULTI-PRO-R2 or Just getting a set of Koni Yellows

Looks like my OEM Boss front struts are getting worn out. They feel rather soft even on 5. Would it be worth getting a set of something like the MULTI-PRO-R2 or better of just replacing the Tokicos with a set of Koni yellows?

The car is tracked about twice a month and street driven 2 or 3 days a week. Did not want to spend more the US2200 in any case.

I saw those, I suppose they would be on par with the Konis ? To be honest for street driving, the P springs with the kooks headers are about 1cm to low. Have to watch the speed bumps. Raising the ride level a tad would be nice.

I've "heard" of a couple instances of the Eibach sets bending the strut rods; I'd look into this stuff via google before spending any money.

You can get KW V3s in that price range. I have them and love them, adjustable ride height, compression, and rebound. Jegs has them cheapest:

The KW Clubsports are the next step up and are recommended for mainly track use but the V3s are a good dual purpose coilover.

I will check out the V3 coilovers. Wanted to keep improving the car little by little, Any one try out these Kenny brown coil overs?

If I was going this route I'd spend a bit more and get the CorteX Koni setup with the offset front struts to give you the option of running wide tires up front. The way you're going I'd get the Xtreme grip setup and don't look back.

I would have to agree with you, because the OP tracks his car quite consistently, so might as well go cortex.
Pairing those with the watts link and may be a torque arm, you can probably leave the ZL1 in the dust 8)

Plus, you can comfortably fit wider tires up front with their optional struts.

For the answer to the original question, I think the Konis would be the way to go...just know that you've missed their annual sale anyway and that could have been an inexpensive way to get them.

But I think you already got the best answer to go with CorteX...especially since you're running in a fair amount of time attack competitions.

Yup, I saw I missed the sale so I held off. My buddy in his GT has the Konis. Was suprised to see that he killed them in about 8 track days. Both fronts are weeping oil!! and the right side lost a fair amount of adjustment... Our tracks are not the smoothest in the world!!

Both of us would be very interested in a group buy at Cortex.

Just wanted to say how much we appreciate BMO and the people here who are always willing to give good advice, our primer source of racing know how!, We got 1st and 2nd on Sunday against Vettes and Porsches!! Had a hell of a time keeping ahead of a 911 turbo. Ended up on my bumper on the straights and lost him quickly on the curves. I was 2nd, my Friends GT was 1st.

What kind of time difference can you expect with a good set of coil overs??

Is it a terrible sin to get a set of Cortex coil overs for the front now? I might be able to buy a set of used Koni yellows for the rear.... Just had to ask.....

Ask CorteX what they think. Call or send them an email. Just remember they are busy prepping a car for SEMA so it might take them a bit longer than normal to get back to you.

I wouldn't call it a 'sin', but there are potential pitfalls with this mis-match in hardware.

I would say one issue is spring choice. Are you buying a temporary front spring to work with your rears or buying a new rear to better match your new front rate?

Regarding the mis-matched dampers - presumably the Koni would begin to fade first on track, and might lead to slightly unpredictable behavior mid-session or later in the day.

Just food for thought...best to ask CorteX like Rick suggests.
