Post up if you're interested in joining us for our annual Team Shelby / Boss Mustangs Online Pacific Coast Region Christmas cruise. We’ve done this run for the past several years and had a great time. Our planned route is a 44 mile run from Saratoga to the Half Moon Bay harbor for lunch at the popular Half Moon Bay Brewing Company http://www.hmbbrewingco.com/. In cooperation with the Carroll Shelby Foundation (details to follow soon) this event will again include a stop at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford to drop off toys, gift cards or donations. Join us for a great cause and what will most likely be the last local cruise of the season. Although we need rain, keep your fingers crossed for fair weather on December 6th.

For ease of editing, I’ll maintain the roster of members attending in post #2 below. For an accurate head count, please note if you are +1, +2 and so on. For reference, here is the link to the Team Shelby thread: http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/topic/86731-t-s-p-c-r-holiday-charity-cruise-s-f-bay-area-saturday-12-6-14/

See you then!

Jim

I just wished I lived closer so I could participate in all the cool drives Jim puts together.

Got the date for Snakes at the Lake 2015 yet?

Dang, already have plans for 12/6. :( Sounds like a great cruise!

Andy,

Last year was a blast and I fully expect this year to be just as rewarding! I spoke with reps from LPCH over the weekend and they are really excited to have the Boss and Shelby clubs coming to the medical center again this year. Stanford does a really amazing job helping young children with significant health issues and the toys help brighten their Christmas.

We'll catch you on the next one.

Rick,

Snakes at the Lake 2015 is scheduled for Saturday June 27th - which is sandwiched between the Fathers Day and 4th of July weekends.

Weather in Tahoe is usually predictable by then and averages about 75 degrees. We've had a good Boss turnout for the past few years.

I typically post a thread on or about April 1st.

I'm going to have family coming in for just that weekend so I unfortunately doubt I'll make it this year.

Snakes on the Lake should be before father's day so I could go again!

Sean,

That happens this time of year.

Now the weather projection for next week is starting to look very wet. Might consider rescheduling to Saturday the 13th if the 6th is going to be a wash out. Will decide next Wednesday night.

SATL 2015 is the Saturday following Father's Day and the week before the 4th of July.

I hope the weather holds at any rate. Unfortunately, I fly back to Florida on the 12. I'll be there in spirit with you guys one way or another. The hospital takes on a slightly different meaning for me too as our son's pediatrician's office now is under their umbrella. I know it means a ton to those families.

The weather report below for this Saturday looks promising. If you're on the fence about joining us, please try to decide by late this Thursday as I need to firm up our reservation at HMBBC before noon this Friday...

Also, the LPCH is still undergoing an expansion to serve growing numbers of children needing life saving medical services. These are the same type of young patients that Carroll Shelby formed his foundation to assist. Because they are still short on storage space this year, they have requested Gift Cards from the following retailers which will allow them to shop for age and gender appropriate toys, books, hobby items, etc. for their patients.

Amazon
Best Buy
iTunes
Target
Toys ‘R Us

Any gift card is very much appreciated. Gift cards in various denominations are commonly found in your local supermarket (Lucky, Safeway, etc.) which makes this mode of giving very convenient. If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution by check or credit card, please download and complete the form found at the LPFCH link here:

http://supportlpch.org/sites/default/files/PDFs/onlinedonationformnew.pdf

Enclose the completed form (and your check if applicable) in a sealed envelope addressed to LPFCH, with your name and address in the upper left corner. A donation receipt from the LPFCH will be returned by mail for your tax records.

I will have several wrapped gift boxes to place gift cards and envelopes in for a Christmas tree photo-op in the main lobby.

I'm hoping to also have several of the 2014 Shelby ornaments available for purchase. http://www.cscf.org/donate/holiday-tree-ornament/

See you this Saturday in Saratoga!
