Turned T/C off for the first time... umm... whoa!

Haha,

Well - I put on my big boy pants(left the fiance at home) and turned traction control off for the first time this weekend as, apparently, I don't like the tires enough to keep them past 10k miles haha. What a flippin' rush! I'm 25, this is my first v8 - tuned the heck out of a little VW CC and that was my only experience driving a car that had a bit of performance attached to it.

All I can say is thank goodness I chose an area with a lot of room! I may never need to do that again!

Don't feel too bad... I am in my middle 40's and have owned and played with big block Pontiac's, Fox-body Mustang GT's, DeTomaso Pantera's, Viper's, A/C Kit cars... you get the point...

The Boss is way beyond any of those cars...

I wouldn't even consider trading my Boss to get my old Pantera back... don't miss it anymore.

OK, let me guess. Assuming you were pointed in a more or less straight line. You jumped on it, the back tires are spinning and the back end is coming around on you to the right (counter clock wise) all in about one second. You lift and think holly tire smoke bat man, thank god this thing has traction control ! And then you do it again.
Imo the stock tires are a weak point so burn them up and add tires to your Boss mod list. And stay safe.

Lol yeah I did my first ever shift to second during a burnout and wind out second during said burnout this weekend. Was quite fun. This is my first V8 as well.

I've yet to get on my car that hard (too many cops out by me and not enough open / quiet roads here in OC).

But I recall my old supercharged / widebody Nissan 350z, I would make a right turn and power over, shift into 2nd still smoking the rears, then swing her back the other way and into third. It's all well tuned gearing and diff setups and this BOSS reminds me very much of my old car. It's been a while since I drove a sports coupe so I'm getting used to being back in the saddle a bit first ;)

I just want to say, be careful with the traction control.
I was getting comfortable with the advancetrac off, and one damp, cold morning it bit me... and had to replace 7k worth of parts.

So, you were there! haha, yes exactly - though I only did it once and had to get the hell out of there - was really confident that cops could hear my 4 second burnout haha.

Thanks for the safety posts - I think it is actually important for us all to remember how much car we actually have here - a lot of car for the street!
