Hello again, gang!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Wanted to remind the forum of the approaching tour of Watson Racing outside Detroit, MI scheduled for next Saturday, 2/22!!! Should be a few COMPLETED 2014 BOSS 302Ss as well as several in various states of build. We are planning to start at 11am EST and will likely run until 2:30 or 3 or until they kick us out!

So far I've heard I've heard from the following forum members regarding their parties:
1fastang
GOT SVT
EvocBruce
Boss2x
Bulldogracer
Black Boss
Swiss Boss

Again, Watson said we can bring more than one guest, so if that changes the number if attendees joining you, shoot me a pm. Also, if you haven't already RSVP'ed, pm me by noon this Monday, 2/17 so I can send Patrick and Watson the final number.

Since many of you will be coming in from out of town, I'd be happy to try to set up a dinner nearby as well if anyone's interested.

Thoughts??

what time are you thinking about dinner and I assume you are talking about Saturday after the tour?

going to stay in Romulus Friday night

I will be coming in Friday, leaving Pittsburgh right after the USA Olympic hockey game

Good evening!

Patrick and Watson Racing are all set for our tour on Saturday, 2/22. We will begin at 11am and run until 2:30 or 3 pm. Watson Racing is located on the east side of Dix Toledo Rd, just north of Sibley, right off of Interstate 75. Their address appears below:

18703 Dix-Toledo Hwy
Brownstown Twp, MI 48193

Patrick also confirmed that they will NOT be allowing us to take pictures during the tour, however, he did state that he could take 302S-related photos upon our request and would fwd them to me to post. There will be plenty of cool stuff to see with a few folks from Ford Racing and possibly even Team Mustang joining us.

Looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday morning at 11.

Regarding dinner, yes, I was referring to AFTER the tour Saturday. I'll figure out a few options and we can decide on Saturday.

Agree. Great job by Watson for hosting and the Ford Racing guys for showing up to support.

Thanks to Z20WHAT for organizing! I want a Grabber Blue 302S......

I agree too. This is the second time I've been there and they were great hosts both time.
I also want to thank them for the great Pizza.

You're right, the Grabber Blue S was kick azz. 8)

I may be putting in an order for their pinch weld pucks that are used for a single jacking point. They were sweet!

yes I also agree.
An awesome operation they run, the guys at Watson were happy to give their time and were very informative along with they guys from Ford racing.
checking lottery ticket, ah no.

While on the tour of the shop, we were under a Boss 302-S and were told the H pipe Watson puts on them adds 40 horse and they use a
Tremec TR-6060 transmission.

Here are a few photos from the tour. None are in the build area of the shop.
Great hosts and very interesting tour!
Thanks Z20WHAT for your time and thanks to Watson (Patrick) and Ford Racing for letting us in.

A few things learned:
-Most cars are going into private hands, not race teams (I think it was only 2 are going to race teams)
-Grabber Blue is the rarest color choice (out of Blue, White or Flat Black)
-Takes about 2-weeks to build after the bodies return from paint
-Factory paints the Blue and White, while Flat Black is done by CDC
-The pinch weld option it takes something like 40 hours to complete, most were ordered this way
-Body in white comes to Watson, sheet metal is cut out and roll cage gets installed, and then they get sent back to Ford for E-Coat & paint (unless Flat Black)
-Watson's new Race Car is outstanding!
-Watson is a first class operation
-Watson has a nice catalog of items (as posted earlier, I like the pinch weld pucks to.)

Too Bad we couldn't take pictures in the shop, as you could see how these cars really come together. That was the best part of the tour, getting to see it all come together into one bad a$$ race car.

Here are the guys who came from Ford Racing

Larry Ferrin, Bruce Smith, and Andy Vrenko.

Larry is an all-around Ford Racing guy that serves many roles with the company.

Bruce and Andy are the two primary engineers on the Boss 302-S and Cobra Jet programs.
