Weighed the Boss Stock

I weighed my boss on a set on NASCAR scales.

It weighed 3612 totally stock.

The car is front bias of course because of its engine.

I was hoping it would have a 50% cross over (looks like I have some suspension work ahead of me).

I'm going to mod the car and I'm going to weigh it each time I add a part.

I want to see how much weight is added or subtracted with each mod.

See the results below.

wow, very interesting. Verified by the photo. It's amazing how 43 years of technology have so vastly improved things. I would bet that the weight of the wire harness and electronics alone is the reason for the extra 200 lbs!

It sure is great to have my life span cover the period of time between these two cars!

Great info, thanks! Haven't weighed mine yet, but the MSO for my Boss has the shipping weight at 3519... probably only had a few gallons of gas in it from the factory. How full was your gas tank when you had it weighed?

Can you tell us how much gas was in your tank at the time you weighed it?

EDITED: Cross weights are not that bad - I originally misread the readout - 49.7%.

Those cross weights are not good - in fact I can recall a time when I've seen cross weights off 5%.

I had around half a tank.

Yes I was surprised as well. I weighed my 2005 Saleen and it weighed only 49lbs more. I have an Supercharger, a watts link, saleen coil overs and lighter 20's.

The crossover was dammed near perfect.

Here's a pic of my Saleens weight as a comparison.

OK so you're saying that 0.3% from 50% cross-weight "needs work", but 0.2% from 50% is "damn near perfect"???

What am I missing here?

Yeah, I misread that readout.

Blue Boss RS - I think you're fine - nothing to worry about.

I was told being around at 50% is better than being below. Anyways both are real close. Good call.

What a fantastic picture btw... easily 200 lbs with electronics and the new safety stuff!
