Welding on Chassis

Newbie here with a question for the group. I have a 2013 Boss 302 Mustang. I'm considering a weld repair on the chassis. What precautions are needed to protect electrical system? Jim

Disconnect the battery and the 3 main connectors from the PCM.

I'm running the factory tune. Will disconnecting control module affect the car operations? Or just plug in and go?
