Fitted up my 350R wing from MAD Industries on to my carbon/carbon Anderson Composites trunklid today. Looks beautiful. Shame that the deck lid is going to be painted/wrapped on the outside but having the wing in carbon is enough for me. Weight savings is huge. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Beautiful! I’d like to leave it unpainted.

Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Of the carbon fiber decklids I have seen, the only one that advises against adding a spoiler was Anderson Composites. Does Anderson have any reason for the warning, or are they just saying a huge 68-71" race-worthy wing would be a bad idea (seems obvious)?

I communicated with Zach Bohn of Anderson Composites and he said its not advisable to install high downforce wings on the carbon decklids. That being said this is a seriously solid piece, Carbon through and through. Where the R wing loads are transferred the decklid is very solid and I am reinforcing the innerbolt locations with bonded in metal reinforcement then sandwiching over sized washers under the wing foot and under the mounting bolt. The 2 edge bolts are located where the decklid skins are doubled up (very solid 3/16 to 1/4" thick carbon layup). I believe it will hold up, my previous S197 Carbon/fiberglass deck from Anderson had an RTR blade spoiler attached for 4 years and still no signs of cracking or paint checking. I think a race wing that has pedestals bearing on the center section will probably stress the skin too much. If you have the chance to observe the wings on the GT4 cars they are dry carbon (not Anderson) but their pedestals use the factory GT350R wing location near the edges to mount.

Do you know what the weight savings is with this setup? I'm assuming that's why you went with it right?

    Looks good.

Additionally, do you have a build thread started for your PP2 car? I know you haven't received it yet, but will you be creating one?

Don’t know weight savings yet but based on S197 lid about 15 lbs I would say. We will start PPL2 build log the day it arrives.

I hope so, train landed outside Philly this morning. Gotta get on a truck and 2 hour ride to my dealer. Wish I could just go get it.

Still waiting. Pain is excruciating, especially since @2012-Boss was going to take yet another trip to my house to install parts for the 2018 track season scheduled to start Monday May 14. Hopefully car will arrive early next week leaving a few nights to install the basic safety gear.

    About time.

I found out the hard way that the railroad has a 6 week delivery window. 95% are delivered within a week, but some.........

Finally! I like those wheels a lot. Hopefully you're properly breaking it in tomorrow.

Those wheels!! Nice ride. So, can you fit GT350 brakes under those wheels?
