That's not the skip shift solenoid. The solenoid is mounted very high up in the middle of the trans. There is another plug and connector on the back of the trans but I'm not sure what it's for.
I bet they still installed the solenoid, or installed a dummy, just so they would not require a different harness from the standard GT harness. They just took it out of the programming. Makes inventory and replacement part stock easier to deal with.
