Who has had their 5th or 6th gear grind fixed?

I have an almost new 2012 boss, and when the transmission is cold(ish) I can get a good grind into 5th and into 6th if I don't shift very carefully. I know there was an oil TSB, and I know they've updated the syncros in newer build dates (mine is Feb 2011) What has anyone's experience been with any fixes? I hate for them to tear the transmission apart.

I had 5th and 6th gear grind, hot or cold. Turns out it was the syncros all messed up....transmission had to be pulled and rebuilt. Ford covered all the work/parts since it was under warranty.

thanks. That's what they're considering doing to mine. How did your shifting feel after it was "fixed"? I once had a transmission fixed because of syncros (an 87 Merkur xr4Ti) and it shook and basically was screwed up by the techs.

After it was fixed, it felt better than the day I bought it! Shifting is more precise and crisp. They did great work.
