Why Ford returned to Le Mans with GT and not Mustang

Interesting article in Autoweek. I sure like how this worked out with the GT but it would have been cool if they had done the same thing with Mustang.

The Mustang has the aero of a brick, especially when compared to the purpose-designed GT, and especially at 200+ mph. Seems like a non-starter concept.

It sure is soaking up the available $$$ , also the new mustang is supposed to be run in the aussie V8 series

Yeah but that series is more like NASCAR with uniform tube frames underneath manufacturer-specific body panels. Looking forward to it either way
