Black Boss said:Removed the stock Oil/Water Cooler today and replaced with a large Oil/Air Setrab with a Thermostat from Improved Racing (per Steve's plan).
Here are the install pics for anyone interested in going this way.....
Parts list:
Ford GT Lower Hose BR3Z-8286-BA
Ford Adaptor Insert AL3Z-6890-A
I sourced these from Improved Racing:
Setrab 34 row 9 series Oil Cooler 50-934-7612 with optional 22mm fittings (2)
High Flow Engine Oil Thermostat (180 degrees) ENV-100 with optional -10 AN fittings (4)
4x RaceFlux AN -10 Straight Swivel Hose End SS-000
4x RaceFlux AN -10 45 degree Swivel Hose End DS-045
4 feet Fireflex (-10 AN) Sleeve
Also:
Glowshift Oil Filter Sandwich Plate 22mm x 1.5 GS-AFS
Canton Oil Filter Sandwich Plate 22-549
15 feet Aeroquip Startlite AN-10 Hose AER-FCU1015
Plus mounting brackets for the cooler (re used the FRPP bracket for the smaller cooler) and thermostat, that I fabricated from 1/8" Aluminum.
Drain the cooling system.
Remove the stock Water/Oil cooler and insert the new Adaptor Insert.
Remove the Lower Hose with the cooling tee off and replace with the new GT lower Hose
Then add the first sandwich plate with Pressure and Temp senders (awaiting an upgrade to the AeroMeter gages). I couldn't get a combined sandwich plate for both sensors and the cooler to package with the stock cooler removed:
The Thermostat with a bracket I made up:
Installed Thermostat:
Second Sandwich Plate for Cooler:
Hoses from Sandwich Plate:
Hoses at Thermostat:
Hose Run from Plate to Thermostat:
Cooler Installed:
