Current state of affairs:
We shipped my heads to AFS for freshening up.
Unfortunately, they were damaged by FEDEX in shipping so back they went for repair.
That was bad enough but, on the way back they were damaged again. So back they went...AGAIN.
I'm never gonna have a racecar.... :(
Ti welding has to be done very carefully. It "should" be purge welded and the temp is highly critical. MUCH more critical than any other metal.
Too cold and the rod sticks to the part when you don't want it to and too hot the part is junk and you can't fix it.
Watch the color band, anything past...
Probably be fine but, it’s those odd severe wrecks where the belts and your body stretches that get ya.
Say you get upside down….where do your legs go?
Up into the dash, and that bar….on your shins. ouch.
The down side of doing it that way is....look how low the dash bar is.
Kind of a knee knocker.....but you can't have everything. Always compromises to be made, its the nature of the sport.
The rest of it looks great.
I met @SMGDHG last weekend for the first time. Smart young man, no surprise he is doing so well.
Its always nice when I get to meet fellow TMOers face to face, so far every one of you has been a pleasure know.
:)
Exactly. This is why when I was training stock car drivers I would take them to the kiddie go cart track….every turn of the wheel scrubs speed and it becomes very obvious what helps and what hurts speed.
