Also, it seems that all rumors are pointing to a 540 hp rating. If the GT350 comes in at a tick under 3700 lbs and the GT350R is just under 3570, that's not half bad.
Price differential from GT350 to GT350R will be less than the difference between a loaded GT and the GT350.http://www.automobilemag.com/auto_shows/detroit/2015/1501-6-things-we-learned-about-the-ford-shelby-gt350r-mustang/Also, Sport Cup 2 tires - 305/30ZR19 front, 315/30ZR19 rear...
No additional power for the GT350R. Just 130 lbs weight reduction, better aero, and better tires. It's not even apparent if the suspension is different (I think they're referring to it vs the regular Mustang in the article)...
Totally depends on price. At $50-55k, I would likely trade the Boss in on it. At $55-60k, if it offered Z28 or better performance, I'd consider it. Anything north of low $60's, no way. I just can't see spending that kind of coin on a pony car, which is why I got the Boss and not a GT500 in...
Glad to see I'm not alone. People jumped on me on the other forum just for questioning the results. It's debatable whether even a CAI with a bigger MAF housing (requiring a tune) makes more than about 10 hp max. Yet OP saw a gain of 17 hp from a no tune CAI (with a sleeve installed to shrink...
I've been following the thread over at SVT for some time.I'm still having a hard time believing OP gained 39 hp going from stock with silver key to CAI + TB + red key. That just sounds too good to be true.If other people duplicate the same result, I'll definitely be getting this CAI and TB...
I would have told them to GTFO the moment they suggested sending out the PCM. That's like going to a doctor to get blood drawn and they can't hit a vein so they want to surgically remove your arm and send it out to get blood taken from it before reattaching it.
Doubtful. 2014 was the end of the line for the 5.4/5.8 Condor/Trinity. The 2015 Expedition is dropping the 5.4 in favor of the 5.0 from the F150 and an optional Ecoboost 3.5, the 2015 Navigator is dropping the 5.4 and will come with the 3.5 Ecoboost standard. Ford isn't going to keep that...
I'm keeping an eye on the GT350. If it comes out with at least 510-525 hp, is at least 100 lbs lighter than the current car, has a TR-6060 or equivalent instead of the MT-82, and isn't priced too much over $50k, I will likely trade the Boss in for it. If the specs are underwhelming or they try...
Personally I think the flat plane crank in a GT350 or other special edition is possible but highly unlikely. What I think is far more likely is some of the Cobra Jet technology trickles down.Start with the Boss/Roadrunner engine, add the Cobra Jet intake manifold, CJ intake cams (remember...
