If you haven't started on it, I would go find a Ford Performance handling package and just go with that. The parts are designed to work together and Ford takes the guess work out of it.
Just a quick photo dump, car is still disassembled getting the rear brakes, rear shocks, and rear brake lines wrapped up.
I took it on a quick run to get gas for the first time since installing the engine, successfully made it back and has fresh...
You really need 2 sets of wheel n tires. The biggest problem I see is guys trying to make street ( really hard) tires work on the track, or track ( really soft) tires work on the street. Throw that in with excessive heat cycles and you prolly...
As a kid my grandfather used to take me along when he sat around with his cronies and had coffee some mornings. I was so pleased he wanted me to go along, but I did get a bit frightened because all they discuss was how the sky was falling. As a...
I always recomend a Ford Racing kit ( and American muscle has them on sale) because they are designed to work together, #2 suggestion would be a Cortex kit. With regards to coil overs... anything less than $5K is prolly not worth owning, the...
Installed Girodisc rotors on the front for the beginning of the NASA season here in Utah. Metal artwork! Boy, that brake duct hose is embarrassing... (it's getting replaced as well!)
Installed ARP rear wheel studs to match the fronts; replaced right rear caliper (frozen/ gouged piston--cut 1/4" off banjo bolt to make sure it doesn't happen again); installed Gloc street pads in the back to match the fronts; ABS system bleed... (see full post)
I figured as much--that's why I ordered the reman caliper. When/if it fails, I will give Lars a call. I didn't see scoring in the bore, but there must have been something. I'm starting to wonder if I used a longer banjo bolt in the right caliper... (see full post)
That piston is junk. I have heard of reman, s failing with track use. New oem not sure they are still available. If you set that needs rebuilding send them to Apple hydraulics on long Island ny . Call speak w Lars tell him usage he knows his...
Do you mean the piston wouldn't move as in it wouldn't turn, or it was turning but wouldn't engage back into the caliper? I've had the second problem when I let the pads wear too far down and the piston is extended far out of the caliper. Lots...
Piston would not turn in either direction (in/out), so I could not install new pads. Old pads had only ~4000 street miles, so piston was only extended about 5mm.That was still 2mmtoo far to fit the new pads. (see full post)
I would try to find a new oem caliper. Remans do not hold up to track use. I went through a set every weekend or two before having a Ford dealer order me a set of new oem. No problems since then.
